A Not-Quite Nightmare Come True
Apr. 27th, 2012 04:03 pmDo you believe in the sixth sense - that astral and psychic plane that is as ever-present as it is ever-elusive?
A few nights ago, my Human One confessed of having a Nightmare about me. Stolen away from them and then unstuffed and tossed into an alleyway dumpster to rot away, I was - according to my Human One - "lifeless and dying" by the time they were finally able to find me.
"It was only a bad dream my Human One - nothing more," I soothed as I cuddled up against them, but in the deepest fibers of my being, I could feel that I was telling a lie and that Something Bad was about to happen.
When my Human One said nothing in return and simply held me tighter, I knew that they knew that it was only a matter of time.
That said, perhaps I should explain something before I continue with my story.
Though not a Pokemon Trainer, my Human One would be considered by Pokemon Trainer standards to be what is called a Psychic.
Out of all of their 'abilities' at their disposal, the one that is significant for this story and that I will make a mention of is my Human One's ability of Far Sight - being able to see glimpses of the Future in their Dreams.
Also called precognition, too many times has my Human One's Dreams come to fruition and too many times have they been Nightmares.
Going back to my story, knowing what I know about my Human One's Far Sight ability and how they oftentimes manifest themselves in Dreams, I could feel myself getting sick as my own Psychic senses told me that the Dream - the Nightmare that it was - was True and that disaster would befall me sooner rather than later.
Though nothing more was said after that initial hushed admission upon waking, it was as if the confession had awakened a sleeping elephant in the room. And then, last night in fact, disaster struck.
